russia is... when your loving grandmother makes you cry twice in 24 hours.

I am back!!! To many things. To Prague, my wonderful computer, normal speed internet, civilization, home, good food, sleepy lazy days, giant pots of tea, a clean house, a normal shower. Russia was hard, it was a test of my endurance. It made me cry, it made me angry, it made me stressed, it made me not sleep, it made me a horrible person at times, that I wish I never saw in myself.
I have about a million pictures, so I decided I will do separate blogs over the next few days with all the pics, all of them themed. I'll start with my favorite pictures, from the country side. I went to visit my grandmother and grandfather in the village where they live, and my aunt, my cousin and her baby came along too... which turned out to be a bit much for my fragile psyche. My granny is a bit of a psychological monster... so she likes it when people are having nervous breakdowns around her, when the chaos is further enriched by constant screaming, arguing, fighting etc... she drives everyone crazy. Me and my aunt escaped from her grip for a bit during the night to drink wine and feed the starving mosquitoes that took a liking to my flesh. Now my legs are full of little red dots that just won't go away! Also, we walked around the village a lot and took wonderful pretty pictures. Enjoy! Some will have captions underneath them for explanation.

This is the only road they have.

Two burned down houses.. some drunks accidentally started a fire there.

Another burned down building, used to be a cafeteria.

My great grandmother lived in this house.

My grandparents garden/mini farm.

Their dog's kennel.

Their toilet outside.

The view with the house.

They even have a hospital, but we weren't sure if it functioned any more.

  1. It looks A LOT like what I just came from.

Whenever I see such pictures of destroyed abandoned houses like that I get this urge to go inside and just explore. It's very interesting how these places feel when everything is just... gone.
