russia is... when the best photos of your home city smell of chaos and tragedy.

Hello! Did everyone sleep well? I slept for 9 hours. I went to sleep at 9pm and woke up at 6am. Great...... oh well.
When I woke up, Prague was starting to feel like the same old melancholy depressive type of mood... but after showering, breakfast-ing and lazying and reading, I realized it's not the same. For some reason now I find things I can do with my time easily, whereas before I had to struggle in order to make myself do productive things. Now they just come out nice and normal, as they should really.
Like my Dad, I haven't actually gained any weight in Russia, even though I always felt like I over-ate all the time, because the food there is so heavy and just blaaaahhhh. I am so ready for this long and uninteresting summer here in Prague, even though I know it's actually going to be a bit interesting! First of all, the wonderful trip to Germany with Valentyn, secondly the internship. German people beware of the Russian wolf and the Ukranian.... fox? I don't know. Sadly, I can't yet watch the World Cup here yet because of our stupid TV but hopefully it will get fixed soon. Otherwise I am gonna have to go to some bars or something to watch the games... Not really an option for me haha... Germany is playing against Serbia today, they better fucking crush them. Because my favorite Spain was a total disappointment.
What, am gonna blog about football now... Geezzzzz. It's supposed to be about Russia.
Here is a pretty postcard-type of photo of the main attraction in my city, the Kremlin. Haha reminds me of the band the Kremlin from Chicago... one part Billy Sides and who knows what other parts, I can't quite remember.
BTW all photos done by me suckers.
That's the symbol/coat of arms of my city, here done in flowers.

View from the balcony.

The great big river Volga

Funny architecture

Some Russian girls.

Pretty house whaaaat

The great big river once again

My love for everything half-destroyed

It is so aesthetically pleasing to my eyes

And I am not being sarcastic at all

This is my favorite building, but I don't even know what's in it.

I was trying to photograph Russian hipsters, but I was either too slow with my camera, or they didn't come out as hipsters on the actual photo.

Oh yeah.. if anyone is wondering, my city is called Nizhny Novgorod. Apparently, it's the fourth largest city in Russia.

russia is... when your loving grandmother makes you cry twice in 24 hours.

I am back!!! To many things. To Prague, my wonderful computer, normal speed internet, civilization, home, good food, sleepy lazy days, giant pots of tea, a clean house, a normal shower. Russia was hard, it was a test of my endurance. It made me cry, it made me angry, it made me stressed, it made me not sleep, it made me a horrible person at times, that I wish I never saw in myself.
I have about a million pictures, so I decided I will do separate blogs over the next few days with all the pics, all of them themed. I'll start with my favorite pictures, from the country side. I went to visit my grandmother and grandfather in the village where they live, and my aunt, my cousin and her baby came along too... which turned out to be a bit much for my fragile psyche. My granny is a bit of a psychological monster... so she likes it when people are having nervous breakdowns around her, when the chaos is further enriched by constant screaming, arguing, fighting etc... she drives everyone crazy. Me and my aunt escaped from her grip for a bit during the night to drink wine and feed the starving mosquitoes that took a liking to my flesh. Now my legs are full of little red dots that just won't go away! Also, we walked around the village a lot and took wonderful pretty pictures. Enjoy! Some will have captions underneath them for explanation.

This is the only road they have.

Two burned down houses.. some drunks accidentally started a fire there.

Another burned down building, used to be a cafeteria.

My great grandmother lived in this house.

My grandparents garden/mini farm.

Their dog's kennel.

Their toilet outside.

The view with the house.

They even have a hospital, but we weren't sure if it functioned any more.
