They are called pointe shoes and are accredited to this one dancer from 1800s but actually apparently were finalized in the 20th century in Russian ballet (and everyone knows how important THAT is for classic ballet).
They are not the same as ballet shoes! It was quite a shock when I found out. I thought all ballet dancers wore those pointe shoes.
And lastly, did you know that those crazy fetish heels that are impossible to walk in are actually inspired by the pointe shoes, but from how I see it, are actually easier to walk in than pointe shoes because the fetish ones have the tiniest support of the 7inch heel.
But enough about ballet. Let's talk about me. 5'4 (or shorter... depending who you ask) little Russian girl lost in the vast lands of America, trying to study painting.
That's me a few years ago on set of a film I was making. Now I have longer lighter hair. That's about the only thing that's changed.
That's probably all you need to know. And now, some cool stuff I like lately:
Alice Glass. Crystal Castles new album.
Tavi (StyleRookie) - 13 year old fashion blogger.
And finally, the Cat People Tarot cards, given to me by Danny (who is the little brother I never had) on my birthday. Fortune telling seems to be my only path in life.
